에즈마이야 운동(EZEMIAH MOVEMENT) 이순근, 볼티모어 벧엘교회 1. 개요 하나님의 깊은 뜻과 섭리아래 현재 전세계180여개국에 약5,000여개 교회를 중심으로 약650‐700만의 한인들이 살아가고 있다. 현대판 디아스포라이며, 각 나라와 민족 가운데서 우리 민족이 영적 제사장으로서의 사명이 있음을 알려주는 통계이다. 이에 우리는 하나님의 부르심에 응답하여 지역을 넘어, 인종을 넘어(Beyond Borders, Beyond Race) 그리스도의 복음과 하나님 나라를 전파하는데 총력을 기울이기로 한다. 특히 재외 한인교회의 2세들을 거주지 국가와 사회에서 다니엘처럼, 에스더처럼 영향력있는 위치에서 하나님의 영광을 나타내는 삶을 살도록 키워야 할 것이며, 한편 조국을 위해서는 영적 재건을 위해 쓰임받은 에스라처럼, 그리고 정치적, 사회적 재건을 위해서 쓰임받은 느헤미야처럼 쓰임을 받아야 한다. 1. SUMMARYApproximately 6.5‐7 million Koreans spread all over the world living in about 180 different countries forming 5,000 or more local communities with churches at its core according to the Divine Provision and profound plan of God. This is modern Diaspora and this statistics illustrates a mission for us to be spiritual leaders among every nations and races. Thus, we will do our utmost to spread the Gospel of Christ and Kingdom of God to mankind Beyond Borders and Beyond Race in answer to God’s calling. Especially those 2nd generation Koreans shall be raised to live influential lives that glorify God like Daniel and Esther within their living community and nation. And at the same time, they shall be expected to be like Ezra who restored spirituality and Nehemiah who re‐established politics and society for their mother country. 최근, 한국의 농어촌교회의 실정을 보면, 주일학교의 쇠퇴와 더불어 전체적인 목회의 약세현상이 주를 이루고 있다. 55,000여개의 한국교회의 전반적인 현상이라고 해도 과언이 아닌 주일학교의 침체현상은 농어촌교회의 경우 더 심각한 것이 현실이다. 때에, 우리의 이민자 2세들이 방학을 이용하여 조국의 농어촌 교회에 가서 영어를 이용하여 여름성경학교와 겨울성경캠프등의 사역을 활성화시켜 조국의 스러져가는 농어촌교회 재건에 일익을 담당토록 하는 것은 주님이 시키시는 일임을 확신한다. The reality of countryside churches in recent Korea falls into a decline of Sunday School along with overall weakening of ministry. In fact, stagnation of Sunday School can be labeled as a general condition of about 55,000 churches in Korea and the situation is more severe in countryside churches. Therefore it is obvious that the 2nd generation immigrants taking part of rebuilding countryside churches of native land that are falling by holding English VBS and Winter Bible Camp during vacation is God’s will. 이에 우리 모두는 주님의 이 부르심에 응답하여 매년 에즈마이야 운동(Ezemiah Movement)을 여름과 겨울에 2차례 주관하여 농어촌교회의 재건과 농어촌사회봉사에 주력한다. 구체적으로는 7월과 8월 여름에는 미국과 캐나다를 중심으로 한 이민 2세들이 참여토록 하며, 12월과 1월 겨울에는 호주와 뉴질랜드를 중심으로 한 이민 2세들이 참여토록 기획한다. 이 에즈마이야 운동을 통해 한국의 농어촌교회의 영적 건강을 회복케 하며 농어촌사회에 활력을 불어넣을 뿐만 아니라, 이민2세들로 하여금 분명한 정체성과 인종적 뿌리를 갖게 함으로 다음 세대의 영적 지도자들로 성장하도록 돕는다. In answer to this calling, we shall focus on revitalizing those countryside churches and serving the communities through Ezemiah Movement twice each year in summer and winter. During summer, July through August, 2nd generation immigrants in USA and Canada will lead the programs and during winter months of December through January the ones in Australia and New Zealand will take the lead. Through this Ezemiah Movement, we wish to achieve not only spiritual revival and revitalization of countryside churches of Korea but also establishment of identity and sense of roots for 2nd generation Korean immigrants so that they can grow up to be spiritual leaders of next generation. 한편, 에즈마이야 운동의 활성화를 위해 전세계적인 조직을 구성할 필요가 있다. 미국과 캐나다를 중심으로 한 미주지역과 호주와 뉴질랜드를 중심으로 한 대양주 지역과 그리고 기타 대륙을 포함하는 전 세계적인 조직을 구성하여, 홍보, 모집, 진행, 운영등을 담당토록 한다. 기본적인 조직으로는 총본부와 그리고 각 지회를 들 수 있다. 뿐 만 아니라 국내에도 국내담당 지회를 설립하여 농어촌교회의 발굴과 해외 지회들과의 연결, 그리고 에즈마이야 대회 진행 등을 총괄하도록 한다. 참고로, 2007년 2월20일 현재까지 이 사역에 참여 및 협조를 동의한 분들은 다음과 같다. Also there is a need for a world wide organization in order to encourage Ezemiah Movement. American region coring USA and Canada, Oceania region coring Australia and New Zealand, and the third region covering other continents will share responsibilities of publicity, recruit, administration, operation and so forth. An international headquarter and regional chapters will be at the base of the organization. In addition, national chapters will work in each individual nation to discover these countryside churches in need, connect and communicate with other chapters and oversee the conferences and programs. (27일(금)에는 그 지역을 투어한다. 그리고 28일에는 다음 지역으로 이동한다) 3)2차 봉사 기간: 7월29일(주일)‐8월2일(목) 역시 지역에 따라 29일 주일 오후부터 시작할 수도 있고, 30일 오전부터 시작할 수도 있다. (8월3일(금)에는 역시 그 지역을 투어한다. 그리고 4일에는 각자 귀가한다) 2.
